For most of the 20th Century Britain was a world leader in motorcycle manufacture. Renowned for their sturdy, reliable engineering and high-quality finish, these classic motorcycles are still enjoyed today by enthusiasts throughout the UK.

The motorcycles are from the collection at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham except for the Triumph Speed Twin and Royal Enfield motor bicycle which at the time of issue, were privately owned.

Frame consists of six stamps issued on 19 July 2005
